I love chocolate and realized that every time I bought a chocolate bar I enjoyed, I forgot what it was a few weeks later. Kakaokunde started as a way to keep track of interesting chocolates, their makers, origins, and tasting notes. Along the way it became a database of more than 300 specialty chocolates—and a place to share interesting facts about chocolate, from bean varieties to fermentation.

After traveling with our daughter, I noticed that finding available seats in a German train’s toddler compartment (“Kleinkindabteil”) required opening every connection one by one. I built a tool that does the tedious part for you: it finds free seats and, if the toddler compartment is not available for the whole journey, shows the longest uninterrupted time window in which it is. Hopefully, this makes family travel a little less frustrating.
A Spanish vocabulary trainer for the words you encounter in everyday life.
Flashspañol grew out of the words I encounter while learning Spanish—whether from a Netflix series, an intensive language course, or everyday life. It lets me save those words and study them later, alongside curated and custom lists for topics such as yoga, home, and fruit.

Café Finance is my personal finance blog. I started it because I noticed that conversations about investing often happened with my male friends, while many of my female friends felt investing was not really for them. I want to help change that by making financial concepts easy to understand and free of unnecessary jargon. Finance should feel like something you can read in a café, not something you have to study in a library.
Before moving into industry, I completed a PhD in customer behavior and predictive analytics. Throughout my academic career, I worked closely with companies to apply research to real-world problems. My work on customer value prediction in non-contractual settings led to publications in journals including Marketing Science.
